檔案下載回來之後，還要到這裡 http://register.vmware.com/content/registration.html 免費註冊一下，詳細填好自己的基本資料，基本上回答不用太認真，意思到了就好了，送出，才會得到一組序號，這組序號要好好保存。
再裝好 linux-headers, build-essential, xinetd 這三個套件
$ sudo apt-get install linux-headers-`uname -r` build-essential xinetd
切換到剛剛下載檔案的目錄
$ cd /home/smallken/
解壓縮
$ tar zxvf VMware-server-1.0.6-91891.tar.gz
$ cd vmware-server-distrib
開始安裝，接著它會問一些問題，基本上都使用預設值即可，但是你也要稍微記一下它安裝的那些路徑，例如document的安裝路徑之類的，注意最後一個問題是要輸入您剛剛去註冊所拿到的註冊碼。
$ sudo ./vmware-install.pl
